official Miss Arkansas crown shot - Jerry Davis Photography
Hello everybody!
Thanks for taking a second to stop by my blog.
Whether you consider this a pageant blog or just a big spill of ideas turning up in my mind, it's a good way to get to know me a little bit deeper!
My name is Maggie (fun fact: short for Margaret) Benton, and this year I have the privilege of serving the state as Miss Arkansas 2017. That entails traveling the state as Arkansas' official ambassador, as well as promoting my platform, "Giving Is a Gift," and serving as an ambassador for the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. It's a wonderful opportunity to meet people, love on kids, and impart hope in the lives of as many people as possible.

All of that being said, I basically just love people; learning about them, befriending them, encouraging them, communicating with them, relating to them, etc.
grad pics!!!! this was such a crazy feeling
cheering on the hogs
baking a pie
singing
taking pictures
competing in a pageant
daydreaming about California
I love the color yellow, T.J. Maxx, cheese dip and chips, stickers, Romans 8, the smell of lavender, macarons, brainstorming via whiteboard, protein bars, shoes, and an extra-blended-chocolate-covered-strawberry Blizzard from DQ. :)
One thing is for sure -- every single day I learn something new about the sovereignty of God and His plan. I am slowly but surely deciphering this little thing called life with the help of His tender and loving care.

My fave quote: "To laugh often and much; To win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children; To earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; To appreciate beauty, to find the best in others; To leave the world a bit better, whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; To know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded."
