pageants

Pageants. A word that I never thought would be in my vocabulary. Today, one of the most important parts of who I am. Praise God for leading me to the Miss Arkansas Organization and the people involved. Because of the vulnerability, opportunity, and consistency that comes with this unique experience, I finally feel like I can see what the big picture really is... impart hope.

My whole life I have been clinging from one glimmer of hope to the next. Don't we all? From one good moment to the next?

Hope is what gives us strength to face tomorrow. Hope for eternity, hope for renewed communities, families...even ourselves. Pageants. They've taught me more than I could ever communicate, but first and foremost - to have hope.

Through competing in the Miss Arkansas Organization, I truly believe that God has revealed to me who I am and who I want to be. My goal through it all is to be who he created me to be - in my truest form. I am so confident in 2017 being the year that he wanted me to have this platform.  I told my mom a few weeks before the pageant this year, "If this is the year...it will alllllll make sense."
And sure enough!

There are so many opportunities to meet amazing people, mentor precious kids and teens, improve yourself, prepare for your career, earn scholarships to further your education, promote a specific platform, etc, etc, etc.  There is no other public platform like this, and that's why I do it!

I head to the Miss America pageant with confidence.  So many people have pushed me forward, taught me, and lead me to believe in my ability to handle this job.  Without them, I would be so lost.  I head to Atlantic City's stage knowing Who I represent and who helped me along the way.  This is not something I could do in my own power.

That being said, I have experienced so much in the past year(s) that has stretched me and taught me things I never knew when I competed in the past. I learned that I am capable of things I didn't even know I was capable of.  I am so ready to see what is in store for this year of service.

If you're interested in competing in the Miss America Organization, but don't know where to start, please let me know! I know exactly how that feels like and would be glad to get you started on the journey of a lifetime! This organization has definitely changed me for the better.
